Hilo Design was founded by siblings Mouna and Sahith Gummadi, who were on a mission to revolutionize men's fashion in India. Mouna, with her background in design, was determined to bring a fresh and unique Indian aesthetic to the men's fashion market, while Sahith brought his expertise in business, product, and marketing to the mix. Together, they set out to create stylish and inclusive garments that would make any man feel confident and stylish, no matter their height, skin tone, or overall body type.
As they worked to bring their vision to life, the siblings knew they needed a brand name that captured the essence of what they were trying to achieve. That's when they stumbled upon the Spanish word "hilo," which means "thread." They immediately knew that this was the perfect name for their brand, as it represented the way in which they were weaving together diverse elements to create unique and stylish garments. And so, Hilo Design was born.
